Breaded Sole Goujons

Think that megrim is just for the grown ups? Think again! Check out these Cornish sole goujons that make an easy-peasy, family-friendly meal for all.


  • 2 fillets of Cornish sole
  • 1 tbsp plain flour, seasoned with a pinch of salt and pepper
  • 2 beaten eggs
  • 50g panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 tsp dried seaweed
  • Pinch of sea salt flakes
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil for frying


  1. Slice your fillets into goujons and dip into a shallow bowl of plain seasoned flour to lightly coat them.
  2. Next dip into a bowl with beaten egg and then into breadcrumbs mixed with seaweed. Cover evenly with the coastal crumb and repeat if necessary, for a good layer of breadcrumbs.
  3. Heat your oil in a shallow frying pan and cook your breaded goujons for 4 mins on each side until golden brown.
  4. Season with a pinch of salt and serve with mashed potato and buttered spring cabbage.
