This British Sandwich Week we’re teaming up with restaurants and cafes across Cornwall to celebrate the class Cornish crab sandwich. Chefs across the county have made sure Cornish king crab sarnies are on their menus to encourage more people to try it.

Caught in abundance in Cornish waters between April and August, Cornish king crab is a sweet, succulent meat perfect for a lunchtime sandwich.

Considered a delicacy in Spain we’re working with businesses across the supply chain to increase British consumption of this sustainable, delicious protein source.

Here’s a list of some of our favourite twists on that uber tasty, Cornish crab filling – our top ten places to find a crab sarnie in Cornwall for British Sandwich Week 2024…

1. The Boathouse/Beckett Seafood, Newquay
These guys have the perfect spot right on the beachfront of Newquay harbour. You can’t beat a refreshing drink with blue skies above looking out at the bay where your shellfish was caught!

6. Kota Kai, Porthleven
The Bao buns from Kota Kai are famously scrumptious. Get yourself down to Porthleven if you haven’t dined there yet. The menus change regularly at Kota restaurants but they’re big on using ingredients caught or grown in Cornwall, and they’re making sure Cornish king crab is on their menu this season.
